I enjoy the ARRL VHF contest three times a year and other SSB stuff so I enjoy the 991A, otherwise the FT-DX10 would be my choice for HF only over the 7300. Still, the display on the 991A works well enough ( for me ) to dial something in, but it pales in comparison to the 7300 or the DX10 display.Shift doesn’t have its own knob, it’s managed via Twin PBT. Yeasu FTDX10 has dedicated Width and Shift knobs, which I prefer. The shift knob on FTDX10 is way too fine, though, if you turn it 90 degrees either side the shift value is some 50-60Hz only, so you need to keep turning that knob a lot.I’ve had a number of requests to shoot a video series about the Yaesu FT-710 AESS, similar to my FTdx10 series. Early reviews are good.The Yaesu FT-710 will cover 160-6 meters with 100 watts output. There are two other variants: the FT-710M and FT-710S which are the Japanese market 50 and 10 watt versions respectively. In terms of availability, DX-World reports that it’s scheduled to be released in late August 2022 and the price is still unknown..
